Mid-October Round Up

It's been a few days since the last post, so let's see if we can get caught up on a few events.

First, Garry got around to decorating for Halloween.  He didn't get quite as extravagant as he did last year, but the dining room is in the theme:

Meanwhile, Russell has Anthony and a friend cleaning out the basement.  Ah...the basement.  Every scrap of wood, bit of twisted metal, dried up flakes of paint...anything that Russ could chuck into the basement with even a shred of a thought of "I can probably use this some day" got chucked down there....then forgotten.  So now that the lanai is done and before he starts on the kitchen cabinets and the hottub extension, he's got to clean out the basement.

Notice, I used the words clean out, but he has undoubtedly heard quotation marks around it:  "clean out"  which in Russell land is going to mean: shift things around so he can keep everything that's there and possibly manage to cram more junk down there.

About 1/3 cleaned out.  It has a Floor!  Not sure what the white spots are..
..perhaps ghosts of displaced junk...

All the stuff removed--so far--has been hauled to the lanai.  My lanai!  Now to get Rick to come haul it away.  Russ says he's going to "sort through it" and only keep "the stuff he needs."  We may have a blowout about that idea.  I'm like mom in Beetlejuice:  "Everything goes."

So we'll see how that turns out.  The outside of the place certainly qualifies for a haunted house look.  Or at least abandoned. 

And finally, here's a couple more shots of Russ using that iPad that he can't seem to justify any one purchasing ever.

I think he's onto the notion that I'm onto him.

On the plus side, one morning while he was checking the things he checks when he's iPadding in the car, he suddenly said, "Um..baby...Hawaiian Air is having a special.  $130 tickets from Seattle to Hawaii.  Should I book us a trip?"

HELL YA, YOU SHOULD!

So before we got to work, we had a Hawaiian get-away scheduled for January!
