Well, my darlings, I'm so sorry that I was late getting this post together. Today was a late day at Epcot "Upper Half," the World Showcase. And Damian--that's me, lucky me--caught a cold. (Probably stress related <looking pointedly at Russell> .) So by the time we got back to the room I was exhausted and sick, so I just went to bed.
But it's the next day, we're home early from today's park, and I'm getting caught up.
So, yes, today was the World Showcase, the "upper half" of EPCOT. It's a big circular path with several...spokes...each of which is a recreation of a street from some part of the world. For example, there's Canada, England, Japan, Italy, Mexico, China...and others. There aren't any real rides to speak of, but there are movies, live shows, shops, restaurants, and snack places. So we wandered from land to land, looked at things, relaxed and had a good time. Here then...in no particular order are some of the adventures we got into....
On our way in, we came across a penguin Character. Little Richard loves penguins, so we had to take some shots.
We also kept an eye out for more Hidden Mickeys. Here's a few we spotted (not all from today as I found some leftover pictures from the other day.)
Garry hid out in England's version of The Hundred Acre Wood, searching for Eeyore.
Granison got the munchies early and bought a chocolate bar...
(Of Course, It Is...!)
(Posing in Canada)
We stopped in France for some pastries and coffee. Then we hustled over to Japan to watch the drumming show...
In Italy, we found ourselves caught up in The Red Sisters who put on quite an entertaining show, and got nearly the entire family "on stage" and helping them.
(Mom Edna takes on the Role of a Fashion Model)
(Damian and Russ are Cast as the Wailing Parents in a Wedding Skit)
Granison is cast as a strong muscle man.
("And Now I Must For the Touching....!")
Back to Japan we went for shopping, Pokemon toys for Garry and Little Richard. Then Sushi, Plum Wine, and Sake!
In Africa, Damian finally finds a pair of Mickey Ears that calls out to him....
(Fabulous! And Granison Looks on with Dismay)
(That's Right...I Make the Ears Work For Me!)
(Really? Think Anyone Has Figured It Out?)
In fact, they almost made me want to wear this shirt:
We stopped in Morocco for lunch complete with several Middle Eastern dishes and a belly dancing show!
(Granison Never Quite Grasped the Point of the Picture Spots...)
In Germany, Mom Edna gave into her weakness and bought herself a cuckoo clock!
(I'll Take That One, There!)
(Spiffy. But the Pink Leopard Ears Still Win!)
We rode the Maelstrom ride in Norway, then visited all the trolls in the Viking gift shop.
(And He Was Dismayed About My Ears?!)
(Er...No Comment...)
Mexico was the end of the tour. Garry fell in love with a big, green, frog.
(We Met These Guys During the Mexican Boat Ride.)
Then it was time to stake out our places for Illuminations, the fireworks show over the lagoon. We found a good place, waited, and soon the show started. As always, the Disney firework show is amazing. Here's a few choice shots.
After the fireworks, the night was over. We trudged back to the entrance where the ball was all lit up and glowing...
Then to the car, the room, and bed. It was an incredible day, and everyone was exhausted.
