The lanai continues to develop. Now that the stumps are gone, Russ has discovered that there's more room on the right and left "wings" to expand the sitting area. So we've decided to do that.
Anyhow, here's pics of the wall, now nearly completed
..and a view from the top. Russ has put in the retaining timber, set up the garden patch, and cleared out the spot on the right for the tree and grill. On the left we'll put in another tree and have decided on a fountain of some sort. Probably one of those smallish, gurgling, bubbling fountains. Who knows?
So...he's still got a ways to go before the "Mom Edna" deadline of next Tuesday. ...one week!
Meanwhile, way in the distance near the road are the remains of the big tree. Slowly Garry is chopping it down to burnable wood. And we've taken two loads of wood out to his folks.
And bonus news! Garry somehow caught the horrible, hateful groundhog! Hooray! That little monster gets transplanted to some distant forest!
