Seattle to Kauai
We got up at 430am Seattle-time, zipped to the airport, and got on the plane. I love my iPad. It was a 6 hour flight, but 2 movies and a bit of game playing...and we were there! We landed in Honolulu, then changed planes for the hop to Kauai.
Honolulu was sunny and warm and we all shed our winter gear from Seattle. Kauai, however, was gloomy and wet, and everyone put it all back on!
Garry asks, "Why do you always bring me to the cold islands?"
We got our car--a zippy red thing--and took off. In a break with tradition, our first stop was actually a bit of scenery!
We drove just a couple of miles from the airport and there they were: The "Fantasy Island" double waterfall. Due to all the rainfall, they were really pouring! So we spent some time getting lots of pictures.
The Three of We
Russ and Mom
After that we hopped back in the car and did our normal first stop: CostCo!
Luggage for 4 adults, and a shopping cart full of supplies. Packed!
After that we made a stop at WalMart for more basic sundries, as well as a shoes from Mom and Garry. Then we were officially done and hit the road for the resort.
It rained on us the whole way up, but we finally got in, checked in, and Russ started unpacking, and cooking dinner. Staying out of his way, Mom, Damian, and Garry headed down to check out the pool. Nice! Hot tub---nice! So we soaked for a while and headed back up to the room for dinner.
We cleaned the dishes, then went to bed. We are tired!
Aloha!
