Hanging Out in Princeville

We slept in this morning in an attempt to...well, rest...and get our inner clocks set to Kauai time.  We got up, had a bit of breakfast, and then went down to the center to hear about activities.

They said something about something that you could some somewhere...

Russell booked some activities (which you'll learn about when we do them!) and then back to the room.

I think it's important that--before we look at the pictures--we take a look at what the weather report says about what's going on in Baltimore...

We suited up, got in the car, and headed out.

We drove up the coast to the end of the road.  Along the way we stopped at some beaches for pictures.  The waves were crazy rough, so we didn't get to swim, but we got good photographs.

This was a neat location that...

...soaked Damian without warning!

We drove to the literal end of the road and spent some time at the beach looking at caves, watching waves, climbing trees, and laying out in the sunshine.

These dudes are everywhere!

We stopped at "Red Hot Mama's" for some big burritos, then went to another beach to watch the waves and eat our lunch.

On the way out, we passed a fellow who was selling coconuts.  Well...sorta...first he chopped off the top of the coconut and told Mom, "You gotta drink some of the coconut milk."  So Mom took a drink...

She made a face.  "Ew...not very good."  Then the fellow said, "Oh, it's about to get better."  He opened up a bottle of rum, poured a healthy dose into the coconut and told Mom to try another sip...

"Oh yea," she said.  "Much better!"  haha!

We headed back to the resort, but stopped at a scenic overlook to look at the tarot fields.

Russ didn't see much of it as he was busy reading his "blue book" about the place...

Back at the entrance to the resort, we had to stop and photograph the oh-so-tasteful fountain...

Then we changed into our swim suits and jumped into the pool.  Well...Mom jumped.  Russ just cooled off his toes.  Garry and Damian got in but cringed a lot.  Mom took an opportunity to torture Garry...

Stop it, Mom!  It's so cooooold!

Garry and Damian retreat to the hot tub, while Mom mocks us.

Finally it was sunset.  We had wine, enjoyed the view (such as it was behind the mountains), then Russ made a spectacular Ahi dinner.

After that it was time to process pictures, whip up a web page....then we hit bed.  Another day over.

Aloha!
