Wednesday, January 19

Today dawned overcast and cold.  So naturally Russell booked us on a kayak trip!  Actually, it was great!  We paddled for two miles, hiked for one mile, stopped at the waterfall for lunch, then reversed.  It was awesome.

At the kayak place, Russell rearranges our luggage...

...then does it again at the dock!

We boarded the kayaks and started off.  Damian took pictures of the group...

Mom and Russ made good time..

...but Damian and Garry kept falling behind.  Why?  Why?

Oh.  That's why.

Knowing that I was in the Navy, Garry asked, "Which side of the boat is Port and which is Starbucks?"

We got to the end of the kayak part and headed into the jungle...

Mom has had enough of Garry's foolishness!  Haha!

Lots of scenery.  We had to cross the river clutching a rope hand-hold, we squelched through a half-mile of mud, we cross the river twice more in front of small waterfalls.  Then we got to the waterfall for lunch and swimming.

After we hiked and paddled back, we discovered the sun had come out.  So we hit the beach, swam, sunned, and hung our wilting leis on a nearby tree.

After the beach we cleaned up, stopped at a little bar-and-grill for dinner.

Then on to a luau show.  It was a good show under the full moon.

Amongst the many highlights, however, were these two stand out events:

First, we had this character and his wife...

...who caught me resting my head on Garry's shoulder and muttered something about "them howmsekshuals"...so it was on!  Every time one of us caught that fellow staring at us, we'd lean over and lay a big kiss on the other one of we three.  hahah!  Ah!  It's refreshing to be evil while teaching life lessons to the cretins.

And speaking of cretins, we had this group that sat right in front us.  Normal enough, it seems, but throughout the show the dad would put his arm around the boy and run his hands through the wife's golden hair.  Did I say "run"?  I meant "would grab a handful of hair, twisting it around his fist...then he'd used that wad of hair to pull her head back and forth and back and forth!

She didn't yell or slap the crap out of him, so I guess she liked it.

Otherwise, the show was pretty good.  It wrapped up and we got in the car, headed back to the resort, and fell asleep.

New adventures await!

Aloha!
