Today was Pearl Harbor day! Damian isn’t really into history and Mom Edna has been there 3 times already so we waved to the rest of the crew as they took off. Mom Edna hung about in the room while Damian hit the downstairs gym, did some lifting, and ran on the treadmill for 30 minutes.
Then we got cleaned up and hit the streets of Waikiki for some Starbucks and some shopping. We went down to the International Market–which is basically 100 little carts and shops all with the same selection of tourist-y junk–and looked for ideas. We found some fake leis, sarongs, fanny packs, T-Shirts (7 for $20), and other knick-knacks. We didn’t buy, we just idea shopped. For tomorrow we have other plans.
After that we came back to the room. Mom napped and Damian went back out on his own and bought a new pair of board shorts as the pair he had on were getting old and ratty.
Meanwhile, what of the family at Pearl Harbor? Well, it seems they had a great time. Dad Garry in particular seemed to enjoy the trip.
Eventually we all met back at the room for lunch. Then after that it was off to Hulas Lei Stand and (Gay) Bar! Where we had a 2pm catamaran ride! Mom Lisa and Dad Garry were a bit tuckered from Pearl Harbor, so they stayed in the room to rest. Russ, Damian, Garry the Younger, and Queen Mom, however, hit the bar then the boat. There was much splashing, laughing, drinking of Mai Tai’s, visiting, and laughing.
At one point the skipper stopped the boat….
And said, “Everyone overboard!” So we did!
Can You Find Garry, Russ, Mom Edna?
After we returned to shore, it was back to the room to clean up, have an amazing Russell dinner. Then out for sunset!
Finally it was back to the room one more time. Coffee, dessert, stories about the day. Then, sadly, it was bedtime. Another day used up….
ALOHA!
