Sorry for the delay. It’s been a hectic couple of days. I won’t bore you. No, really Elivira…I won’t…
(if you get the joke, good for you)
Anyway, the 14th was our last day on Oahu. Most everyone was so tuckered out from last night’s luau trip that we all slept until around noon. Then we got up, had a really really late breakfast then just walked around Waikiki a bit. At one point we got everyone suited up and we went for a swim in front of the “Pink Resort” which is the Royal Hawaiian. But really…it’s pink. Pepto Pink. We love it. The nifty part is that the beach in front of the Pink Resort is almost completely sandy (only a couple instances of coral / rock) and shallow. Seriously, you can walk, like, a quarter-mile out into the ocean and only be belly-deep. It’s way nifty. So we swam and paddled for a bit. Then we went back home.
Today was also the day that Dad Garry had to turn in his Harley. I wasn’t there, but I’m pretty sure tears were shed. Russ wanted to drive to WalMart to pick up a cooler to use as luggage so while the “hawg” was being turned in and Russ was shopping….Damian, and both Moms hung out at Hulas, the fabulous gay bar! Eventually both Garrys showed up and we waited for Russ and had drinks.
In the nonce, Dad Garry challenged everyone to games of pool. Mom Lisa played several games. I think the final score was something of a tie…
Russ picked us up and we went back to the room for just a moment, the headed down to Duke’s for Hula Pie! Mmmmm…mmm… Sadly, Duke’s is a free-for-all on seating and it was packed. So eventually we got two slices of Hula Pie to go and just walked back to the room
Dad Garry fell in love….
Fortunately, BoyToy Garry was on hand to teach the parents how to dig into a Hula Pie…
Along with the coffee, the evening was delicious and quite fattening…
Then the day was over and we all went to bed for tomorrow we move to the Big Island.
ALOHA!
