So today was moving day. We packed up all our gear (after several false starts), packed it all into the van, then headed to the airport. We turned in the van, checked in bags, and sat at the gate waiting for our plane to board for the Big Island of Hawaii.
It took a while, but we made it.
New van. New motorcycle. Then we checked into the new resort. Pretty! (Sadly, we only have the room for 2 days then have to move upstairs by 1 floor (in a 2 floor building) because...well, I don't understand it...but we do.
Anyhow.
We got there to check in and Dad Garry instantly became infatuated with a vehicle there in the amazing outdoor lobby of the resort.
We dropped off the luggage then headed back into Kona for dinner. Our traditional first dinner in Kona is at Lulu's! So we did. It was good. Then we crossed the street to get some pie for Dad Garry's actual birthday. While we were waiting for a table, we sat and watched sunset. Both Garrys ventured to the edge to look at the small black crabs scuttling around the rocks.
Russ took a few pictures as well.
We couldn't get a table so I asked for a piece of birthday pie to go. Instead the waiter gave us an entire pie ---- for free! "Happy Birthday!" he said.
Then---even though we hadn't done much---we went to bed.
ALOHA!
