Today the Three of We did our patriotic duty by taking part in the Pro-Marriage Kiss-in at Hate-Fil-A.
We drove to our local establishment--which I'm sure is run by a group of nice people--and refused to place an order. Instead, we posed for a few kissing pictures, then spent our money at Qdoba where--as far as we know--bigotry is not subsidized.
Listen, folks. It's quite simple. The entire brou-ha-ha is not about "Freedom of Speech." That is a lie that the real main-stream media (i.e: Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, etc) has tried to sell to you. If you bought into it...I love you...but shame on you for letting them do your thinking.
With rare exception, not a single gay person has said that the Chick-dude should be prevented from having his say. That's the lie that Palin, Huckabee, Bachmann, etc., are pitching to you. We all believe that he's free to say what he wants to say no matter how ill-informed and hateful it is.
What we want, however, is for you to know that when you go to these restaurants and buy their product, the money you give goes to the Chick-dude. He then gives that money to well-documented HATE GROUPS! He gives your money to groups that actively work to take away liberties and lives from the gay community. Those groups are the ones who teach people that it's perfectly fine to tie Matthew Shepherd to a fence post and pistol-whip him to death.
Oh, they'll say they had nothing to do with that--but they put out the message that it's OK to hate, and then weak minds hear that message and act on it. Then people die.
So although are kiss-in is not at all designed to take away Mr. Chick's rights....your money is being used to actively try to take away ours. Is that really what you want to spend your money on? Because if you buy here...you're bankrolling the hatred, bigotry, and violence.
How else do we know it's not about Freedom of Speech? Palin, Huckabee, and Bachmann (etc) showed up to protect Mr. Chick's right of free speech. But did you hear about the fellow who video-taped his trip to one of the restaurants? It was pretty stupid way of going about it, but he didn't cause any harm. Yet as a result of his "free speech" protest, his boss fired him.
Have we yet heard of Palin, Huckabee, or Bachmann (etc) speaking up to protect HIS rights of free speech? Of course not. Because that's not really what they went out for. They went out to turn a quick buck off the backs of the gullible and easily misled.
Is that you? Is that who and where you want to be?
Please. Think.
