Our flight leaves at 9am on the 7th. On the day of the 6th, Russ worked on the sunroom until nightfall, then announced to Garry and Damian that it was time to get busy packing for the trip! We pointed to our luggage that had been packed for the last week and merely raised our eyebrows. Nonetheless, we got busy and started in. We shaved, packed up computer cables, moved things downstairs. Russ started his packing. At 1:30am, Garry and collapsed in bed due to our 4:30am wake-up call. Russ was still running around madly.
Morning! We got in Garry's car and headed to his workplace in order to catch the 7am shuttle to the airport. Garry dropped us off and when to get his folks. They rolled into the parking lot at the crack of 6:59....
...only to discover that they'd left Mom Lisa's camera and Xoom at the house! Back they went...and returned in time for the 7:30 shuttle.
We flew to Kansas City where we changed planes. However, unbeknownst to Mom Edna, her flight from St. Louis also had a plane-change in Kansas City. So she got off her plane and went to the new gate--only to find us waiting there for her! Surprise!
We flew on to Seattle, got a van. Damian's nephew (Andrew) and his wife (Amber) met us at the Seattle aiport. They took Mom Edna to the mall to go shopping and visiting while we took Garry's folks to see the Jimi Hendrix memorial. It was nice and calming.
Then we met the crew at the mall where we had an extravagant dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. Lots of food, drink, laughter, storytelling, catching up.
For dessert, Andy and Amber ordered the Quadruple Chocolate Oreo Dream Pie (or something like that...)
...and what is this lurking under the Oreo cookie....?
Yummy!
Really, though, it was a really nice bonus to have the "Double A's" be so close and able to make the trip up to see us.
Then...off to the hotel and bed. Ahhhh.....
